Spirograph for Quilt Design

I was watching QVC today. They were selling Spirograph and I noticed that the way each design is made makes a continuous line design. Of course you would make it simpler (not such a dense design) but if you made a design, then scanned it on your scanner, then enlarged it on your computer, you could come up with some pretty interesting continuous line quilting designs.

I loved my spirograph, it was one of my favorite toys as a child. I didn't know they still made them.

there are a couple quilting books on the shelves that teach spirograph designs- they make pretty 'intense' designs. :) could be really fun on the *right* quilt

Circle Lord makes patterns like those.

I recently dug out my old ... extremely old ... spirograph set, the one I used as a kid, for one of my granddaughters when she was visiting. I had the same thought, that the designs might work for quilting. I definitely will look into this.
