Spray adhesive for layering

I have used various basting sprays for years. But I have never made a quilt with a white back ground. And today I was notching the spray adhesive is yellowing. It was sprayed about 2 - 3 moths ago. It is definitely a quilt spray - just checked and it is Sullivan's. Has anyone had a problem with it yellowing and if so, does it wash out? I have going to check the website but thought I would ask here too.

Thanks for your help!

I always use 505 but I have not used a white backing so I don't know if it yellows too. Something to think about....

I don't know about that but I'm sure it would be very frustrating. I hope it will wash out.

I used to use Sullivans but they changed formulas and now I dislike it very much. Was upset with the new formula and wanted the company to know about he drastic change thy had made to it but never did get a reply.....can only assume they dont 'give a darn. Trying others now.....505 worked well but doesn't go very far.

I use white backings frequently and have not had this problem. But the spray brands I use are 505 and Mettler's. Also I spray on the batting, not the backing or the top, I wonder if that makes a difference?

I love spray, but I do try and wash the quilt as soon as possible to wash out the spray residues.... No idea what happens over time.

I use 505, only one I've seen in the UK, I use a lot of white in tops have also used white in backing, and no problems at all.

I mostly pin baste my quilts because it is an old error free tradition but I recently used my can of Sullivans which happens to be the original formula but didn't have any problem with any yellowing. I usually quilt something that I spray within a few days so it may have been been stored for so long that it yellowed. Hope you are able to wash it out.

I use 505 and usually use Legacy Premium muslin for backing which is white & have not had any problem with yellowing.
