Spray Baste
 

I'm trying spray basting for the first time. The instructions on the can aren't very good. How long should it take to dry before I quilt? It's a small doll quilt.

I use basting spray all the time and I have never let it dry. I just spray, put it together and quilt. :) Have never had any problem doing it that way.

Sometimes I wait a day if I can. some sprays are said to cause gummed up needles. but then, perhaps too much spray was used. so far, I've not had that happen.

I lightly spray and then quilt. No problems yet.

Thank you both. I've had to take it apart. I picked it up to start quilting and realized there are some very thick seam areas in this that I could feel. I was planning to use flannel as batting to keep it light for a 3 year old to carry and play with but am not asking for help yet again - another thread. Thanks again!

Me, too! doesn't have to dry or be ironed. Spray and quilt!

I have quilted right after I spray baste with 505 but often I let the sandwich "relax" after completing. I use 505 and love it. I just found it at my local Joann's - I was not able to find it locally and have had to order it. It is not cheap but well worth the $$$$$ for many reasons.
