What kind do you like? Do you have to use it outside because of any fumes? Thanks. You're always so helpful here. Love to read others' questions, too.

I use Sullivans and think it's great....have had no problems with it adhering to the quilt sandwich. I do use a mask for the fumes and try to open windows and use a fan in my sewing room after applying the spray. Most of us are different about how it affects us but they do advise to use it in a well ventilated area. There is NO way I would go back to basting and pinning.

I use 505 and have found no problems spraying indoors. I make sure I throw the windows open and air the room well afterwards. It doesn't leave a lingering smell or anything.

I've read several people on this board saying the ingredients of basting spray are identical to hairspray.

June Taylor's brand is less expensive, adheres well, but the over spray does NOT wash off of surfaces with soap and water.

Many prefer the other 505 spray, less fumes and easy clean up :D:D:D

I use 505 and I love it.

I use Sullivans. I do it inside and open my windows. I have parrots and it doesn't bother them.

It does smell, but I like the results.

When you use basting spray, be careful to use a light touch. I used too much and had to wash it out and start over. It made my needle sticky. I did like the spray when used properly, most brands work about the same.

I tried June Taylor....hated it. Now I use 505 and love it. I try to do it outside so I don't have to worry about overspray. I agree, a little goes a long way! I haven't tried Sullivans but a lot of people like it! :D
