has anyone ever used a spring needle for quilting? does it work OK? any advantage over fmq presser foot?

I have two feet for FMQ, one has a spring and one doesn't. I prefer the one with the spring :D:D:D

Great question. I have both but I've never used the one with the spring. Can you tell us what is the advantage or difference??
(This from the Non-FMQer!! I'll try anything that might help-thanks)
