Do you square up a block as you go? For example, if you're making a Log Cabin. When you're working around the square do you make it square after each piece, if you see you're a bit off? Or do you wait until the whole block is finished?

I would say that if it's the 1st block, I would keep checking to see that my 1/4" seams were accurate. After that, I would think you would not have to square up a block.

Depends on my mood. If I see I'm really off after a couple of rounds I check out my seam allowances. Usually I square after the block is done.

I usually square up my finished blocks.

The log cabin can get a little wonky. I use a wider strip for the outside on all 4 sides. then trim to perfection.

I square as I go so I don't miss it later.

Square up after done, usually check all blocks & adjust to the mean average size, if needed.

I square up after the first couple of rounds, cut the final strips a little wider and trim after the block is done.

Yes, I square on every round.
http://quiltingcorgis.blogspot.com/2...log-cabin.html It may be hard to see on my Dr. Seuss log cabin - but the fox in socks block is slightly wonky because I screwed up the trimming. The place I noticed this most was when I started piecing the blocks together and discovered that my outer logs were slightly different widths so that they didn't line up correctly - all of the blocks are the same measurement, but I missed something along the way.
