Squeaky Walking Foot - Disassemble to clean?

I bought a Brother CS6000i a few months back that came with a walking foot. It worked great for the first month and a half or so, but now it's making an obnoxious squeaking noise (I tried the original foot that came on the machine and the noise went away, thankfully).

Does any one with this machine/brother walking feet know how to remedy the issue? Can I take it apart to clean it or should I just get a new one rather than risking damaging it somehow?

You could watch what parts move when you raise and lower the arm, and put a drop of oil inside, at the joint. But it would probably be better if it was cleaned up. I've taken apart Bernina walking feet, to clean them, and they're not that complicated. Take pictures to help you get things back together correctly. There's probably a spring or two inside that might jump out, so be prepared and take it slow.

I have cleaned my Bernina walking foot with a QTip with a bit of machine oil on it. I put a drop of oil on all the moving parts and then wiped it and ran it on a old piece of fabric for a bit. Stopped my squeak but I don’t know if it will work on your machine foot.

I dunk the whole walking foot in mineral oil and let it drain overnight then wipe it clean.

I haven't taken a small stiff brush to mine before and noise started. Put a drop of machine on it, wiped it off and works great.

I had this happen, it drove me crazy for a while because I thought the squeak was coming from inside my machine. Agree with others, a drop of sewing machine oil!
