St Patricks Day - quilt ideas for this fabric

2 Attachment(s)
There's a yard of each of the fabric in the pic attached. Hoping someone can recommend a Irish themed pattern that will showcase the green print fabric which I LOVE!

I'm great at sewing, just don't have the skill and intuition to picture where fabrics would look best in a pattern.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

I can see why you love the print fabric! I think I would keep the green print fabric in one piece - use it for the center - kind of like a medallion center and then use borders to frame and expand the quilt to your desired size or............... you could just mail that piece to me!!! LOL Be sure and post when you get this one done. It is going to be a beauty.

I agree with keeping the fabric with the baskets large using borders to frame it.

Love that Irish fabric!! Your other fabric choices are perfect. Whatever you make, I am looking forward to seeing pictures!!

That fabric is beautiful! I think I'd just keep the first fabric whole and make borders with the other fabrics and then quilt shamrocks all over the place. Please post when you have finished the project, we'd love to see it.

I tend to agree with the other gals about keeping the Irish print large. But, I would add a light green as well to bring out the highlights of the shamrocks. The coral is lovely, but should be kept to a small offering in the quilt whatever you choose. Perhaps an Double Irish Chain or a BQII?

Maybe an attic window with the Feature fabric in the window?

What is a BQII?

My first thought when I saw the fabric was an Irish Chain - one on point would be very pretty. There are a lot of variations out there to use all the different fabrics would be very pretty.

Found this pattern and thought it would work well.

Maple Island patterns are on line and they are the one who makes the BQII I bet you might enjoy seeing them there on line. The BQ Stands for Big Quilt. It is large blocks to show off wonderful fabrics.

Here is their link ...

There are many modern quilts there that are great for fabric you want left as large as possible.

Oh and I have a purse in the gallery I made some time ago. I almost forgot about that! I am not affiliated in any way with the pattern site. Just someone who made the grommet purse from their pattern in blue batiks with an eyelash trim on the front.

What fabric line is that Irish Fabric? It is so pretty....

Oh I would go double Irish chain. I mean really, Irish themed fabric with a gorgeous print that would stand out in the big block of this pattern, double hitting on the Irish theme... to me it's a no brainer. LOL. Someone just posted a great pic of DIC they did here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...n-t239898.html

Hi - Not sure about the fabric line - but I found all of the fabric at Joann's.
