Stab Quilting

There has been some comment from time to time about "Stab Hand Quilting" I just got word that a new book has been published on the subject. It is by Cheryl Doody who is definitely a master at the technique. She lives near Buffalo NY. The title is "Let's Get Stabbing" and will be listed on Amazon.com next week. I understand the price is $14.95

what exactly is "stab hand quilting"?

I believe it's simply putting your needle into the quilt straight down, pulling through and then putting it straight back up through the quilt, each and every time. slow but precise.

i watched a quilter at a guild show stab quilting a whole cloth on a frame--talk about flashing hands -- she was so fast and could hold a conversation as well--a joy to watch

Thanks, Holice. I'll be on the lookout for that book. I love the ease and look of stab quilting.

Thanks, Holice. I, too, will be waiting for the book! Tried the rocker method but ended up doing all my hand quilting by stabbing!

Ooh thanks for the heads up, Holice - I definitely want to check that out!
