Stabilizer scraps
 

Anyone ever figure out anything to do with these yet?

I hate to throw them out cause it adds up to quite a bit, but there are so many....
and, they multiply like bunnies.....LOL

The only thing I can think of is to wash them in a pillow case and dry them and use them for stuffing in cat or dog beds/quilts.

I am very aware that any scraps I keep take up my very limited space. Nope, I don't keep those.

I haven't done it but I read somewhere that you can patch/piece them together into bigger pieces and use them.

I did that with a t-shirt quilt and it worked well and easily. it was a thin stabilizer. The stabilizer was 22" wide and I was cutting 13" pieces which would have meant alot of waste if I didn't patch them together.

I sew the pieces of embroidery stablizer together and use them again. I cut the piece straight first. When removing them after embroidery just cut the sewing thread. You can save alot by down this. I used everything down to about a two inch wideth.

I patch them together and use them. If it is for clothing I used a regular stitch so they stay together or if for emb work I use a big basting stitch on the machine as I may want to trim out the blank areas and the basting makes it easier but works well while I emb. Sometimes what I do is cut out the center of my stablizer leftover piece and put in a good sized one and use the rest sort of like a frame so I don't have to use so much new stablizer. Got to make that $ stretch.

I also piece them together for embroidering. I just cut the pieces straight and then zig-zag them together.

I'm assuming you are talking about stabilizer for embroidery, etc. I do save the scraps up to a point. Then as I'm doing a project and if the stabilizer that is on the hoop tears I just spray a little of June Tailor adheasvie on it and attach one of my scraps and I'm back to finishing my project. It has saved me starting all over again many times.
