what type of stablizer can I use for cotton fabric? I noticed they have light, medium, and heavy. Is there anything I can use. I do have some interfacing, would that work? Thank you for your help,Michele

It depends on what you are embroidering, like a redwork design, or a heavy stitched one.

I"m still learning... but depending on how solid the emb design is, to what I actually use for stabilizer..
I recently found a huge roll of " fabric/stablizer" at Goodwill. It was actually a isle runner, the stuff us see for weddings.. but it looks just like light wt stablizer... finished projects has laundered well too.!

depends on how dense your embroidery is and how light weight your fabric is

Joann's has Pellon stitch and tear medium weight and I use that for just about everything. Best of all, I wait until it is 50% off (when the interfacing is on sale), buy the whole bolt, and have DH "saw" it in half and roll it on a paper towel roll. Per yard it is the best deal.

Depending on how large of an embroidery you are doing there are different less expensive things you can use as stablizer. Used dryer sheets work well for small stuff, I also use freezer paper alot. I actually wnet out for the first time ever today and bought 'real' stablizer because there is a large peice I would like to do and the freezer paper won't do for that one.
