Stained glass quilt
 

Do I need another border on the quilt? The pattern calls for another 3” border, but I don’t know if it is really needed.

It's fabulous just like it is! Unless, of course, you want to make it a larger size....

it sure doesn't "need" it. so you just have to determine if you "want" it. its looks great the way it is!

Either way - if you can't decide, lay the final border fabric on carpet and then lay the flimsy as is on as if the border was on - i.e. with 3 inches showing along side and bottom... then decide if you like it better one way or the other.. I do that a lot.

I love it the way it is! Your fabric choice looks like real glass. It looks more like an actual window without the border.

I like it as is. If you do decide you want another border, something that reinforces the stained glass look would be awesome. I found these two pics that I think could really add to your quilt.

It looks good as is, but if you need it bigger, add a border

I like it as it is. It looks very modern. If you add borders, I think you may lose some of that modern look. If it is big enough, then you are done!

I agree with all the others who have commented. No additional border needed. It has a well balanced look just as it is!.

No border needed unless you want it bigger. I like how the black looks like the window frame.

Love the batiks you used. your quilt is beautiful, well done. The one I made didn't call for any more than a black border so I just the same black for the binding.

I like it exactly as it is - but its your decision. IF you want it a bit bigger - then go for it. Maybe a stainglass looking fabric that would tie all the beautiful colors together? Either was- it's lovely.

I have this same pattern & hope to get started on it soon. =)

I think it is perfect as it is, and the fabrics are awesome. A stained glass quilt has been on my bucket list for a while now, so it may have to be my next project after I finish the current one.

You quilt is awesome just as is!

If you want it larger, add another border. If not, leave it as it is. It is stunning!

Beautiful quilt as is. Nothing else needed.
