Star question
Does anyone know of a pattern or template to make a star like one you see on the USA or Texas flag?
My kids both live in TX and I'd like to incorporate a TX flag in a quilt. The rest of the flag is easy peasy. thanks! Cyndy K |
The lone star pattern is said to be the Texas star as well. But don't believe an English person.

You can google "printable star images"...once you pick and print the star - draw lines from the inside of each point to the opposite "valley". This gives you your sections/wedges. Use these for your templates. That's how i did it for my last pattern. Of course this works with any star pattern you want. If you want to paper piece, you can do that too. There are lots of paper piece patterns for the Texas type star. Good luck.

So are you basically looking for a 5 point star? If you google '5 point star quilt block' there are lots that come up.

I would just find a pattern and applique it onto the fabric you use for the flag. Moda has a line out called Texas Lone Star State that has the Texas flag printed on fabric.
