I know the quilt you are talking about. I would get a 12.5 ruler and sew an accurate 1/4 inch seam. After trying out a block, you need both and you need both to work well. The ruler is good with all of the lines to follow and see that the whole business is straight. This is one place you can not skimp, to my way of thinking. Just another passing thought.

I use the 12 1/2" ruler to square up the corners & trim off the extra batting & backing on all my quilts before binding. My quilts would not look as good as they do without the 12 1/2" ruler.

You'd love a 12-1/2" square ruler! I use mine all the time, along with my 8-1/2" x 24" one. Don't skimp on good rulers, as they last a long time. :)

Very handy ruler - if you have a Jo-Ann or Hobby Lobby around, be sure to use their discount coupons and save a couple $$$.

OMG, I don't know what I would do without my 12 1/2 and 15 1/2 square rulers. I use the 15 1/2 in mostly in my Embroidery quilts.

I knew you would all say that and you are right. I would find lots of use for a 12.5 inch ruler so I'll get out to get one soon! I have a Joann's coupon around here somewhere so that will make it hurt less.
I also have a pile of 12.5 inch swap blocks so it won't be a one time use! The Plexiglas would also be an idea but I'm not sure I would trust the cutters around here! :-D |
