Ok I am ready to start a queen size quilt...
What would be a easy one to start with.. I am going to do one for each one by girls..They are 24 and 21 and like bright and abstract...I like the blocks that look different shapes. You might can look at sample here..Is this easy? http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9G_bI82SM...XP=1254398390/**http%3A//www.flickr.com/photos/27908852@N05/3228292247/ |
That's easy. Be sure and show pictures.
|
yes that would be very easy - it's kinda sorta like a log cabin, only instead of two colors a round it's just one...
start with a square, sew strips of a color all around the square, then another color, |
Yup, it would be easy and great looking when you are done. Good choice..happy quilting!
|
Easy - and a neat pattern to boot!! Have fun, post pics.
|
Easy. That is going to be nice.
|
Oh, I like that!
Make sure you show us :) |
that i a great pattern to start with!!
Can't wait to see the pictures. |
I think your choice is fantastic. Can't wait to see the fabrics your choose and your progress pictures :). The pictures are always inspiring.
|
Oh, yes, do make that one.
I can hardly wait to see what fabrics you pick. (I have to admit that I have yet to do a BIG quilt yet either....... ) |

Easy, fast, and fun.

Here's a very similar one called "Don't be such a square". I got it off a board years ago. It has a little 3D effect due to the white strips being cut 1 1/2" and the patterns/colors being cut 2". Each block finishes out at 12". The little center squares are cut at 2 1/2 "
You can decide the size you want adding more or less blocks and rows. Easy, peasy beginner quilt. |
Wonky log cabin!!!! check out this blog/tutorial http://tallgrassprairiestudio.blogsp...-tutorial.html (I love her site) She has a bunch of them on there!
|
If you want to do a variation on the square, you can do some squares and some rectangles. I did a top a year or 2 ago for my sister. It looks like the rectangles are twice the size of the squares. I can look up the measurements if you're interested. Plus, you need fewer pieces with the rectangles
Got it on my next post... keep going for a picture :D |
