I have accumulated some stash and scraps. I am trying to organize! The ultimate goal is to have things where I can find them and use them. I like to keep it moving so I can justify buying the next dreamy fabric I come across.
Any tips or systems out there?
Also, I will take any tips on utilizing pegboard in the sewing room.....I have some, now what?? :-)

this is one of my favorites - a hanging show thingie for my fat quarters. except when i replace it because the plastic is tearing from the weight, i will pay more and get cloth ones (i think IKEA has them).

this is my other favorite for planned projects. i use the 2 gallon bags and put in everything for the project and hang it with a pants/clippie hanger. i'm running out of room so i must get busy!

I'll send you my address, just send it all to me, I will take care of it. That way, you won't have to worry about finding a place in your room to put it and you can go and buy more fabric! :)

I like the storage rolling carts with plastic drawers. I also use basket to put my future projects in. Just started having a room so still changing things monthly

You know what? My fabric is in trash bags because I don't have much of a system for storing it.

But, I find now when I'm working on something and I have scraps, I cut them all in squares according to whatever size pieces I have left. I've got squares from 2.5" to 5."

I see squares and strips all bundled in stores and they want some unbelievable amount for it.

I think my lack of organization IS my organization. I have clear plastic totes, batiks in 2, other fabrics in another. Then, I have individual projects in smaller ones. But, I love to get out the fabrics and look at them. And... I wish I had the space for more...

MissTreated... I have learned no many how small your space, there is ALWAYS room for more stash!!! You would be amazed how innovative you become when looking for more room for stash...

BUT if that is still an issue, I would be more than happy to take some of that rising stash of yours out of your hands.. I know of a very good happy home where your fabrics will live out there days. :)

Yup, yup! No such thing as not enough room. You MAKE room for it.
I have a dresser, well actually 2 of them that has fabric in it. An armoir and a very tall bookshelf that holds fabric. I also have 2 small totes that have some in it too. One of my dressers doubles as a cutting station when I need to cut small pieces and also holds fabric in stacks on top of it. :) That dresser is about 30 yrs old. My dad got it from the university and I snatched it for a dresser for my oldest when I got married and moved out. The other dresser I have, I picked up at a thrift store for $10. Nothing wrong with it. It's a great dresser. The top is big enough to hold my tv, along with some little plastic drawer thingys I have.
