State Fabrics

Minnesota has its own fabric line made for their state-wide shop hop. I know that they have done this for at least 3 years. Does anyone know if other states do this?

Huh I had never heard of that but it sure would be neat and I would buy some Texas if they had any

I think there was a fabric line with state flowers (or was it birds?) a few years ago.

Ah, it was flowers

I know the City Quilter in NYC has produced some NYC-specific fabrics over the last few
years.

That's the only other locale that comes to mind.

Saw Tennessee at Mary Jo's today. Had highlights from all over the state, Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga, etc. Quilt Blocks Galore has a block for each state.

The central Kansas shop hop has had a focus fabric printed at least two different years and maybe more. As far as I know the only way to get it is to go on the shop hop.

West Virginia has had State fabric in 2010 (ink drawings of important places around the State) and 2011 (batik outline of the State.

Ohio had State fabric in 2011 (ink drawings of many Ohio barns).

Thanks for the Texas heads up. One of the stores is very close to me :-)

i've looked a couple of different years at the MN fabric and thought about going just for the fabric. alas... life keeps getting in the way. the fabrics are lovely.

There are quite a few fabrics that represent Louisiana. You can see them here:

Thanks for the posts. Love the Texas fabric and just ordered some from Louisiana. What fun!

The Denver area shop hop featured Colorado state flowers. I don't recall the fabric company that makes it. It had our state flowers in different back ground colors.

Oh I really didn't like the designs of the Texas Fabric BUT they had a COOL Tessellating Texas pattern that I now own

AddieLou 09-14-2012 05:31 AM

I agree with not really liking the designs of most of the Texas fabric (except I do like the barbed wire). I like the idea that they have Texas fabric designed for their state wide shop hop. Where did you find the Tessellating Texas pattern. Would like to see that.

Handcraftsbyjen 09-14-2012 06:32 AM

West Virginia did. Vermont does every year. They are beautiful batiks and change yearly.

LisaGibbs 09-14-2012 06:35 AM

I have never seen Kentucky fabric other then the athletic teams.

LadyElisabeth 09-14-2012 06:24 PM

That sounds like a fun idea. Jean and Valorie Wells live here in Oregon, perhaps they could design something.
