I recently bought a Rival at Family dollar for $10.00 with no auto shut off and it works great. Since I never quit sewing for the day without turning off my sewing machine I taped a scrap of fabric over the switch which serves as a visual reminder to check that the iron is unplugged.

I have a Europro and a Rowenta. Neither have auto shut off. I'm a freaky person and have always unplugged my iron after each use. Have always been afraid the dogs would knock it over and it would accidentally turn on when I wasn't around so it's just a habit I have even now when that's not a consideration any longer.

Most irons now have the automatic shutoff -- I did just buy a Europro that does not have the shutoff. I like it. What is reasonable to one is too expensive to another.

Rival ES280 (Rival is made by Sunbeam) at Walmart. No auto shut off, 1200 watt, small, lightweight, steam, spray, dry, metal plate, long cord, shot of steam, full range of temp settings...all for $9.99.

My Continental steam iron and lights are plugged into a power strip, so it is always turned off when I'm finished sewing. I got this several years ago for $9.99 at $ General. It heats quickly and gets hot.

You can put a rubber band or bracelet on when you turn your iron on and when you are ready to quit it will remind you to turn it off before you leave the room.

I just wish I could set the iron for a longer time before shut-off for - like 15 minutes or more!

Toaster brand at Walmart, $9.99.
