Steam-a-Steam 2.

I made a quilted wall hanging that has applique on it. I used the Steam-a-Steam2. I have read 2 different directions for that product. One said the steaming the applique down was sufficient. The other said to satin stitch or zig-zag the edges. This hanging is not something that will be washed much. Do I need to stitch the applique down or will it stay "stuck" down? Who has luck with which method? Thanks for the help!

As long as it it stuck down well, I don't think you need to stitch it. I also LOVE the 1/4 steam a seam for putting in zippers etc.

It sticks really well, even after being washed. I wouldn't bother to sew it down for a wallhanging.

I have only ever sewed around it, but that is personal preference. You would be able to leave it as is for a wallhanging.

If it is a wall hanging I would do a simple straight stitch around the edges but not a satin stitch, but I don't think it will matter if its a wall hanging.

I didn't now there was a 1/4 steam a seam, but it sounds great, especially if it helps put in a zipper! How do you use it to install a zipper?
