Step away from

Last night I finally found the red bandana type fabric that I needed for wine bottle bags & wine bottles I promised to donate to a fund raiser dinner this weekend. So I quickly grabbed a bottle of wine to measure the fabric. I cut all 12 pieces and started sewing the first one. There was no way to put the bottle into the bag that I sewed. DUH! I mis-cut to narrow all 12 and I don't have enough material left to make them. OK, the theme is western so all the bottles will be wearing little wine sized red bandanas. I quickly exited my sewing room before screwing up anything else.

So today I decided I would finally start a sheep wall hanging for my self. Cut the first piece of the background...you guessed it...cut it too small.

So I stepped away from the rotary cutter and promised myself that tomorrow is another day. Maybe I should have opened that bottle of wine first.

I have lots of those days!! It seems that nothing can go right..Forget the wine, let's get some Jack Daniels!!!

So sad for your bad days. Better times ahead.

alikat110 04-12-2012 04:25 PM

Here I was thinking you should stay away from the bottle! Hehehehehehe. Guess you could indulge now!!!!

Sunnie 04-12-2012 04:32 PM

alikat, I am doing just that. LOL

Joset 04-13-2012 03:43 AM

lol shoot i would of gone with the jack daniels.

Elainequilts 04-13-2012 04:33 AM

I would have added another fabric to enlarge the bags, and kept on sewing, but an early coctail works too.!!!

Raggiemom 04-13-2012 05:48 AM

Hope today goes better!

Act like the bandanas were planned! They will be so cute no one will have to know.
Wine is usually my solution to days like that.

onaemtnest 04-13-2012 06:22 AM

Been there done that! Even when I tell myself measure twice .... I still have those days. Where you are so brilliant is knowing when to step away!

Could you add a strip down the "middle" as an accent, and perhaps tie it with that color? Make it look like a planned stripe! Linda

I would add fabric, and change the design.. I have this habit of changing the design of what I'm quilting in the middle, and go on.. I haven't been disappointed..

i am most definitely a member of this club!!

Anyone can put wine in a bag. It takes real creativity to put bandanas on the bottles! Look on the bright side! People will congratulate you for your talent!

EvelynJ 04-14-2012 10:26 AM

Wow, I thought things like that just happened to me. Sad to hear someone else has this dreadful condition. LOL

ILoveToQuilt 04-14-2012 12:10 PM

Can you keep the wine and give away the bandanas? Just kidding. Dress the bottles with the bandanas and reap the kudos for your "ingenuity" and talent. LOL

Margie 04-14-2012 03:01 PM

Cant you add a piece of fabric to the bags to make them fit?

MadQuilter 04-14-2012 03:59 PM

Did you change rulers? The reason I ask is because my DH suddenly started cutting all the lumber for construction projects too short. He had gotten a new tape measure and he kept misreading it.

nstitches4u 04-14-2012 06:01 PM

Sometimes you just can't win! Tomorrow will be better.

katesnanna 04-14-2012 06:16 PM

Measure twice, 3times, four times etc. cut once. Yep!!sometimes walking away is the only solution. Hope the next day was better.

cathyvv 04-14-2012 08:45 PM

I have done some of my most creative work using 'mis-cuts'...seems like you do, too!

leiladylei54 04-14-2012 09:06 PM

Oh boy, been there, done that!!! Definitely should have opened that bottle of wine first...."hiccup". LOL
