When quilting do you prefer to stich in the ditch, meander or tie your quilt? I do love to meander, but find it easier to do on a small quilt so I tend to stich in the ditch. I have tied some quilts, but am not sure if I am tying them right. What do you prefer?

Well, since I still don't know how to machine quilt except for SITD I have to say I hand quilt and have tied them occasionally also. One of my boys loves tied quilts. I do too but only once in awhile. SITD is okay too. I really love to hand quilt :)
Maybe when I get good at MQ I will like it. I hope so!!

You could also SITD then echo quilt 1/4 to 1/2 inch away if you are tired of meandering.

I do what ever the quilt tells me to do to get the look I want it to have. I love to hand quilt, especially the 30's fabrics but I do machine quilt too.

Meandoring when I can. I love the look.

I have done stitch in the ditch and meandering. I much prefer meandering as it is so fun, and seems to go faster.

none of the above. I just do simple straight line quilting. Not in the ditch-I can't stay in it to save my life.

A shop owner showed me the stitch in the ditch foot for a Janome this weekend. I'm thinking of getting it and trying it out.
