Thanks so much! I am thrilled to find this Continental dry iron. It looks just like the one I bought probably 25 yrs ago at a yard sale and I just love it but nothing lasts forever. was wondering how I would ever find one without the steam feature (which is just a nuisance for sewing as far as I am concerned). Will order one soon!

I don't use my iron with automatic shut off when piecing. I stitch a seam, I go to iron it and the iron is off and not hot. The time it takes me to pin and stitch a seam is just enough time for the iron to go cold. Then I have to wait for it to heat up again.
