Stippling Stitch
Do you have a stippling stitch on your machine? I admit I have not spent a lot of time trying my different stitches since I bought the machine over a year ago. But I did try the stippling today. I used it with the FMQ foot instead of the sewing foot as suggested. The jury is still out. I'll try it again. I almost like the smooth look of the straight stitch.

I have the stippling stitch on my Elna 7300. After experimenting with it I decided that it is too small and dense for my quilting. I do FMQ stippling.

I had no idea there was such a thing as a stippling stitch. What I learn here!! Now I am wondering if my machine has it. I will have to take a closer look.

I have a stippling stitch on my Babylock but is too small to use.

I have a Pfaff 2144 is the stipple stitch on there?
|
My Brother has one and the problem with it is you can only make it so big. I tried it and in about a 1/2" area the pattern repeats itself, takes forever and uses a ton of thread. I called it micro-stippleing.

I saw this being used in a class once and the lady was complaining about how much time it was taking. The area was extremely dense - to the point of stiffness. Once she had started she felt she had to carry on with the rest of the area. I have it on my Pfaff, but don't think it's something I'll ever use, even for a small area, as I find FMQ stippling relaxing.
