Yes, that's generally it ....
darning foot to FMQ with feed dogs down
and
walking foot for SITD and other line quilting with feed dogs up

Though as you have read here ... it's not a hard and fast rule, and you do what works best for you!

That's what I do. The walking foot really helps me keep the sandwich together. If there's going to be both SID and FMQ, I SID the whole quilt first to stabilize it, then FMQ.

Walking foot... I don't really like the SITD foot. I find that it's not truly in the ditch and it drives me crazy!

I found it wasn't ... then I moved my needle and bingo! it was right in the ditch!!!! :)

I find that it'll be in the ditch then BAM hops out of alignment.
