Stolen Quilt

I just read this on Quiltvilles Quips and Snips. Sadly another quilter's hard work has been taken. Posting here might help. http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2012/...len-quilt.html

My sister had her home raided one day when she wasn't home. She lost a lot of nice things. Figured a person broke in to steal things of value. About three months later she couldn't find one of her quilts. She finally figured that the thief used the quilt to pack all her items away. Then they probably threw it out. She was more upset about the quilt than all the other items combined. And the thief probably didn't know that the quilt was of value. Stupid thief.

That is a beautiful quilt too. I hope that it turns up soon.

Oh no, I hope that it is found soon.

I'd really hate to miss heaven because I stole something! Wouldn't all of you?

How terrible, I hope it is recovered!!!!

What a shame such a beautiful quilt is in the hands of someone who does not deserve it.

Let's hope that it's just got miss placed in the shipping process and will still turn up. I hate it when a quilt goes missing!

If it was stolen, I hope the person who took it never gets another good nights sleep!

We were in a car wreck in 1994 and the car was filled with quilts. When we picked up our belongings from the junkyard (car was totaled) I felt something was missing. Sure enough when we got home and opened all the bags, one quilt was missing. Fortunately it was the simplest, cheapest quilt we had made.

I always embroider my quilting label on the back side of my quilts before the finish quilting is done. I do this with my embroidery machine. I make most of my quilts as gifts so the label includes the name of the receipent, my name & the date. This pretty much prevents them from being stolen.

Nothing is sacred. I am so sorry that this beautiful quilt has been stolen. I hope it is returned soon.

Every quilter in the surrounding area should watch Craigs List & ebay. Beautiful quilt and easily identified.

I had a car stolen several years ago. I could not deal with it and handed the problem over to God. Two years later the car was found in Daytona Beach Florida and I drove down and brought it back home. It was stolen a day before mothers day and retrieved 2 weeks after mothers day, but 2 years apart.

Thieves are by definition STUPID (in my book). And so short-sighted.
How sad but then one can't explain what people value these days...
