Because of limited floor space, I am thinking of storing my quilting stash on skirt hangers in a closet I have room in. That way I can hang six pieces on each hanger and coordinate it by color/type/etc. Inside the closet will keep the light out as well as give me a quick visual of what I have on hand. Can anyone let me know what do you think about this idea?, Will this work?.
Thank you for your time, Crystal |
that works really well.I do that too.one sunday I ironed fabric for several different projects hung them on hangers and then in my closet, keeps them nice and wrinkle free

I've got a nasty secret on how I store my material. To disguise how much of a stash I have, I got some of those space bags and hide them under the bed  That way DH doesn't have any idea on how much I really have!!

as the late great ELMER FUDD once said, "YOU WIDDLE TWECHEWUS TWIXTER!!!"
       |
I never thought of that. I put up some shelves above the sewing machine and got some boxes at FabricLand (same as JoAnn's). The boxes are cardboard and great for fat quarters.

Those space bags are great until you go to pick one of those puppies up!! I have to do a drag, yank and kinda fling to get them up on the bed to go through my stash. Don't let anyone else pick them up because then my secret will be out

I also am limited on floor space so I am hanging mine on pant hangers. I can see what I have, and if it is hung after washing, less wrinkles happen. I put matching/coordinating materials together on the pant hanger, so it is easier to find when I need them.
