A used cutting mat would be what I tried first. It would add some grip, repurpose that old mat and I could remove it when I didn’t want it on the table. Just my two cents for whatever they are worth.

Put an upside down flannel backed tablecloth on your table i.e., flannel up. You said Farm Table, in my imagination, that would be a pretty big table. So, get a big tablecloth if you can. Tie it to your table legs (assuming they are near the corners) so it doesn't shift around. Or you know, use some flannel or a flannel sheet.
Take it off when you need to quilt & want it slippery. Just my take. I hope you find what you need. |
EasyPeezy you came up with 2 very good ideas. I liked the pool noodle idea, too.

I use a 2 lb hand weight to hold it down. When adding binding to a large quilt, l roll my little 3 tier cart over to left of my chair and lock 2 wheels. I still use the weight. 🙂
