I have a border that is made up of flying geese. In pressing the geese out, after sewig together, I have stretched the border. It is now too long for what it has to be attached to - by at least 1" on each end. Can I steam it back into a shorter length? TIA.

how big are your geese blocks, could you just remove one? Measure thru the middle and both sides and average for the length of your border. Recheck.

Pin it in the size you want it to be to something like a clean sheet on the carpet, spray it with water and let it dry completely. When you repress it, lift the iron with each move. I am working with a braided border right now and I'm afraid to handle it. I may stay stitch it if the first few stitches don't seem to stretch it. It's totally bias.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try this weekend.

If you have enough 'room' could you enlarge your quilt to fit the border? Maybe a small accent strip?

It is pieced blocks set on diagnal with 1/2 log cabin blocks in the corners. Absolutely no adjustment. Thanks though.
