Sent away for material, already to start sewing as it is cut in strips with all matching colors. Animal prints. Looks beautiful.
Never purchased a kit before so I feel it is more expensive, but I did it anyhow. I do have backing and the filling so will make it less expensive that way.

kits are often more expensive- because we are willing to pay extra for the fabrics being put together for us--sometimes even though it seems (yard for yard) to be more expensive it really is not- because --- if your quilt kit has an assortment of 30 different fabrics (or more)to get them all out side of a kit you might have to buy a heck of alot more than you need- shops tend to have minimum cuts--if they will only cut 1/2 yards and you only need a 5" square---
in the kit you get what you need---at times it is the economical way to go

looking forward to pics!

Yes kits do cost a lot more but then you don't have to choose the colors :)

The fun for me is picking the colors but many of my friends adore the kits as it saves what they feel is the stress of choosing fabrics. I had no idea shops have minimum cuts. Guess I've been lucky. We have several within 50-60 miles and none have ever suggested you have to buy a certain amount.
