Stripology Ruler.
I am just about to give up on mine and put it up for sale...sigh.... I can't for the life of me get my blade to run up the slots, they seem so closed the blade just can't slide along it. I have ruined more strip cuts than I thought possible. Any suggestions?

use a 28mm cutter.
a 45mm should work, but a 28mm will definitely work. |
I find I do need to start at the bottom where there is the little extra wedge cut out, and then go up. I have problems using it with my Olfa cutter, but not my fiscars or martinelli. Right now it's the only ruler I can successfully use my martinelli cutter with.
All mine are 45 mm, and from assorted suppliers. |
Good luck! I hope you figure it out...I love mine. I do have to be careful when cutting to make sure my blade is in the slot. I have to start down in the starter opening or it won’t work.

It doesn't work well if you have a bow in your table.

I have the big one and seldom use it for cutting strips. Like you it's hard for me to use the cutter smoothly. It's handy to square up quilt blocks. So is the Shape Cut ruler. Somehow I have accumulated a lot of these slotted rulers over the years. My SS from my guild gave me the smaller Stripology this year. LOL

I always start in the wedge space at the bottom of the slots as per the directions but I still have trouble getting the blade to run up. No bow in my table either. I'm over it.....So disappointed. Thanks for your responses and suggestions...appreciated.

Gundrun Erla, the inventor of the Stripology ruler, has some great "how to" videos on her site: https://gequiltdesigns.com/pages/videos. If you haven't already done so, try watching "Stripology 101." Hope this helps...good luck.

I'm about to put this on my Christmas list, so I'm sorry to hear this!
