What kind of prints do you like? Buying for my new store starts tomorrow, so tell me what you like and what you have trouble finding.

the new fairy frosts are great, really pretty colors.
i like to shop the stores that have a good selection of a variety of fabrics, re: 30's, moda's, thimbleberries, etc. One of our local stores is 90% Thimbleberries, nice store, but not enough variety. fabric lines are really great for people who have trouble putting quilts together.

Don't forget blenders--solids and marbled fabrics. Small prints that go with eye-catching large prints.

Prints with a lot of contrast for OBW's I prefer prints without animals or people in them...sometimes the body parts can look a little disconcerting in the blocks LOL

Just a suggestion... it is ever so helpful to have a measuring device in the picture with the fabric to be able to get a true look at the size of the prints, stripes, etc. :D:D:D

I agree with Pat and Pups - solids and fabrics that read as solid are important. I know a quilt shop owner has told me she doesn't like to carry them, but I would say at least 50% of my quilt shop purchases fall into that category, and definitely all of my larger-yardage purchases.

And I really love the contemporary stylized florals, and batiks.

Lots of variety in print sizes, types, colors! Try to find something for everyone! I rarely buy solids, but often buy tonals - love fusions and marbles. One place I shop has mainly Civil War and 1930's fabric. I don't really care for either, so it's usually just the basics for me when I shop there. I have a variety in my stash, but do gravitate towards the brights.
