strips for a French Braid
 
Most patterns for a French Braid quilt call for the strips to be cut 2.5 inches wide. I want to make a scrappy charity quilt. Would it look ill proportioned if I cut the strips 3 inches wide? Would I then need to increase the width of the braid too?

Yes, I would adjust the width of the braid lengthening the strips to keep the same proportions.
