But it doesn’t actually notify you, until you return to the thread, does it?

Same as usual ... so long as you have the auto-notice turned on.
I get the auto-notice email that there is atleast one new post to the thread.
It doesn't differentiate whether it is a post to me, or to someone else.

Thimblebug, I've usually bolded a poster's name, just so they don't miss it,
This new way does the same job, @thimblebug6000 and I guess, easier to spot?
