Has anyone found a suitable replacement for the "cheddar" orange found in some old quilts? U bought a few yards of a Kona orange called "papaya" and though it will do in a pinch, it's really not as close as I would like to the original color.

I do understand that dyeing techniques and materials have changed, but with some of the new Lancaster blues and double pinks getting close to the originals, I thought maybe someone out there might have discovered a good option. Thanks for reading.

Here is the other one that I found, and bookmarked. It may be a little lite colored, hard to tell.

Have you tried Jo Morton's fabric collections by Andover?
I have used cheddar in many of my civil war quilts.

Those old colors are so hard to match. Hope you find some.

Love those cheddars! Thanks for the links! I am obsessed with oranges in quilts.

Thanks, all, for the suggestions! I'm going to have to sample these and see how they look "in person."
