Suggestion for additional FMQ in this block

1 Attachment(s)
I'm making a quilt using the fabrics in the pic below. I auditioned several thread colors to FMQ on this green fabric. Decided to use the light green thread on the green fabric and either dark green or brown thread on the brown fabric..

I found a leaf stencil to use on the green fabric. Need opinions on whether there should be more stitching in addition to the leaf in each. Blocks will be either a 3.5" x 6.5" rectangle or a 3.5"x3.5" square with the leaf centered in each.

Thanks for your ideas.

As far as just the effect of the quilting, I think it looks fine as it is. You always need to check the packaging on your batting, however. That will tell you the maximum distance apart your quilting lines can be and still keep the batting in place. Pretty fabrics!

The only issue I'd see is that the designs aren't connected and you're going to have lots of starts and stops, which means lots of threads to bury. If it were me, I'd figure out a way to make the designs more continuous so it would save me time.

It looks good to me.

I think you will be pleased with your results.

Not every inch of neagative space needs to be quilted down. I like the way the leaves look.

I like your choices of thread and I don't think you need more quilting - unless your batting calls for it.

I agree with Candace. The extra continuous stitching will provide more quilting based on the batting you are using. I usually work out the quilting design on paper to see how it works and flows.
