I have a pile of Asian themed fabrics too, and a patterns set aside w/them, I'll have to dig it out and see if I can post it.
Your fabrics are pretty. |
That quilt on Carisma's site would be perfect. Beautiful fabrics.

Charisma just posted a quilt on her blog that would be a great pattern for that fabric.

Oh my, so many wonderful ideas!!
So all the great links had me going all over the place, looking and drooling... and also tickling my memory of patterns I have on hand. For example, Judi Madsen did this pattern by Sew Kind of Wonderful, called "Metro Medallions"... Here's Judi's version: http://www.greenfairyquiltsblog.com/...-finished.html And here's the pattern: http://sewkindofwonderful.com/collec...-paper-pattern If I expand that pattern to a queen size, and add two contrast fabrics from my stash, it should use up half of my Asian prints. I'm really liking that thought, and I think this will work up pretty fast. Also, someone mentioned Stack and Whack, so I got out my S&W book, which also had right beside it two "Twister" blocks books and an "X-Block" book. (Yes, I'm a ruler slut!!) So, with the thought of half used in Metro Medallions and perhaps the remainder used in S&W or X-Blocks or Twister blocks, I'm heading off to bed with those four books to ponder. Thanks again everyone for your ideas!! As I've said many times before, I LOVE the QB!! |
I checked out all the links on this thread...? would the Metro M pattern cuts slice up the designs in the fabric, especially the larger prints? just wondering...good night too.

I did large drunkards path (finished size 8" for one unit with templates from Eliza's Back Porch). The quilt ended up being sent to Japan after the terrible earthquake. Drunkards Path blocks this larger are easy to sew. You could also do appliqued circles on a neutral background if you did not want to due any curved piecing.

Quiltybarb's quilt would be perfect for any fabrics you would want to focus on.
