I want to make a quilt for each one of my two daughters to give them when they get married. So I thought I would ask all of you wise and wonderful quilters on this board what patterns you would suggest for a wedding quilt. My oldest daughter is a horse girl, loves blues and black and collects Native american art. My youngest is all girly and loves pink and purple. Niether one is engaged but I know quilts don't happen overnight....at least not in my house! LOL I would love to hear what pattern you would suggest.

Since you know what they like I think the pattern is less important. You've already got the most important info IMO :)
PS. The pink & purple may not work with a guy though  |
I love the double wedding ring! I hand quilt mine & put 4 hearts in the center. You could do it with their colors. But to me that just says 'wedding' because of the pattern. it's alot of work but so worth it when you're finished

I made quilts for all 3 children who got married 19 months apart !!! I picked a simple pattern two irish chain with applique and one star pattern and made scalloped borders to make them look special. I havn't made a scalloped border since ! And it was actually very easy. Enjoy picking out your pattern and making them; it was a pleasure for me.

I like the double wedding ring for the girlly girl, find a simple pattern and make a scrappy with her fav. colors. If she had the "guy" picked out I would try and incorperate both of thier likes into it.

This is what I made for my DS and his wife. I would highly suggest something not too complicated.

I'm not sure what I'd do..but since I have taught and read a lot on the history of quilting..you can't go wrong with the "Double Wedding Ring"..it was proper for all women.. to have one on the bed.. for their wedding night!!

DWR is always a winner for a wedding quilt. Irish chain is another good one.
