Suggestions please for how to complete this?

I decided to try it in a smaller size.

I improvised a bit and, as the one strip (third from the bottom) was really complex and did not show up too well, I decided to leave it out and do something else instead.

But what?

Below is what I have so far. (Like I said, I improvised.) The photo was taken at an angle- it is closer to being all the same width (27 inches) than it looks...

I would also welcome suggestions on borders if anyone has any bright ideas? I was thinking maybe darkish brown/pink as a first border and maybe some flying geese outside that.......

What would you do with it?!!

It sure is cute. Whatever you do it will be great.

I would connect them and then add a few solid color borders from the colors within. I would start by probably framing it out with the solid green you have in there already if possible. Love the way you used so many scraps!!

For that vacancy, you could do a row of 9-patch or churn-dash. OR, for the sake of symmetry...you could move the half-square patch one to the right of the first set and then do another identical row of the strip that uses green background. Separate w/ the same white strip. I personally would do narrow sash in the white and use one of the prints for a border. Agree flying geese would be good or prairie points!

I really like symmetry, so I would remove the left strip from the right-hand section and reproduce the left section from right to left. Then I would take the section that you removed and put it into the center where it's set off by the two of the sage strips.

As for borders, maybe a ribbon border on the sage green using all of the colors already in the quilt? By the way, I really like your color combination. Looking forward to see what you come up with!

Symmetry has it's place but I don't think this quilt will benefit from it. Asymmetry is usually a lot more dynamic. I think I'd add a single row of either squares or rectangles between the two pieces and then do some improv borders from there and not make them symmetrical either.
