Suggestions for quilting thread color please?

Can't make a decision for the "borders"...I think black would be too harsh, white too bright....would you go with red, green, grey, none of the above? The center medallion will be quilted using threads that match the designs. I will be FMQ on my DSM.....
Thank you!!!

I've seen some red varigated thread that would look nice.

I think a shade of grey would be nice. Very pretty quilt by the way. :)

I would try to find that kind of khaki green of the holly leaves from the center medallion. It would look good on both the red and the green parts and you could use it to highlight in the center as well. I find khaki is a surprising good blender for lots of fabrics. Pretty top!

Beautiful quilt!
I agree with Tartan.. go with some shade of khaki green. Guess you could "test drive" some different colors by doing a small bit of quilting with say 3 or 4. Think then, you'd know.

King tut has some very pretty variegated thread called holly and ivy that may be very pretty on that

Beautiful work so far, I usually use a Sulky green blendable thread and it really does blend well. http://www.sulky.com/catalog/sub/thr...ton/30wt-blend

I usually try various thread that I drizzle the thread on the area that I want to quilt. I am usually a matcher to the fabric because I want the piecing to be the focus of the quilt, not the quilting.

I would go with that sage green color in the bells/leaves. Since red & green are direct complements, it will end up reading greyish in the red areas, but that should look really nice, appearing to be a two-tone thread even though it's all one color. By the way -- love your template. Super cute!

Signature Thread has a color called Moon Rock that is a taupe/grey. You can't believe how well it goes with various colors. It is my go-to thread for quilting a problem quilt.
