Sulky thread

ive been using sulky for a few days now and noticed that the thread is untwisting as I'm using it and fraying. I'm using it on silk tie quilt. anyone ever have that problem or know why this is happening.

Try turning the spool so the thread comes off in opposite direction. Threads are twisted and you may have it undoing itself

I'm quilting with Sulky right now and the exact same thing is happening. I'm half way thru the spool and it worked fine until this point so I don't think it's a position thing--I haven't changed anything. Will be watching this thread and thanks for posting this problem, Ro.

That I why I try not to use that thread anymore. Try a bigger needle hole or I use a product called Sewers Aid that helps lubricate the thread thru the needle.

I used to use that thread for embroidery, but I don't use it anymore. It does seem to untwist.

I have never had good luck with Sulky thread and don't use it for the reason you're having. I had some cotton Sulky and that seemed to work OK but the silk and rayon thread is problematic.

I think rayon thread is the worst thread ever.

I was doin hand sewing w/it and noticed it unraveling. what the heck. and its not cheap thread.

You have to tie your knot on the end that's already cut not on the end you cut

I had a lot of trouble with the sulky metallic thread this week. It had twisted and knotted areas periodically and would break the thread. Will not use it again...had to throw 2 spools away. Must be a better thread with less stress!
