I really like the black. It gives them some age.

The 1930s Sun Bonnet Sue was done mostly in feed sacks with black buttonhole stitch. I think the reproduction fabric with black would look great! :D

I like the black with the 1930's fabric, too. Makes it look very vintage and realistic--the it was done back then. Here's a photo of my SBS quilt named "The Bluebonnet Club" b/c they are all in blue. In between the sunbonnets I added trapunto hearts. I also added tons of embellishments, lace, ribbon, beadwork, etc. It was lots of fun to make.

Since the quilt is for DD, and she loved the black, I guess that is what I will go with. I want it to look old. DD loves anything from that time to the 1950's. She says she was born in the wrong year. LOL!

Ive done SBS and BOB in different colors and in a variety of colors..just has to please your eye
