Supreme Slider Issues
Bought the large slider last March. I've used it for 2 king size quilts. Stored it in the tube it came in in April. Took it out this morning and the back side was slick and the front side was tacky. Has anyone had this problem? I know the pink side is the top, but that is the side that is tacky. My sewing area is in the basement but it is cooled and heated. Any thoughts on this?

I assume you tried rinsing it off. The only thing I can think of is sending an emailto Pat LaPierre: [email protected]. Please let us know what they say!

The pink side is the tacky side. The other side is the top.

Rinse it under running water, don't pat dry or rub it. Shake it dry or let air dry.

I don't have one yet...do they really make that big of difference in FMQing?
|
jmmoore, Yes, they do make a big difference. It's important to keep them clean.. and tacky, or they can shift and you end up sewing through them... Trust me, I know!

I've had one since they first came to market. Still using the same one.

The brand I use is Sew Slip. It came rolled in heavy butcher paper which I use to reroll and store. Perhaps that would help prevent stickiness later.
Although it's a different brand, I have washed both sides with mild soap. Works fine. |
I always put painters tape on the two top corners of mine just to be sure it stays in place. And yes, the pink side is the tacky side. Now if only I could get the hang of FMQ I would be so so happy.
