I enjoy the magazine, and it is now the only one I get. I am a little disappointed in the number of mistakes in each issue. Never buy fabrics, or start cutting, for a project without checking the corrections on the MSQ website under "Block".
I find Block to be well worth the price and, as Onebyone stated, the instructions are easy to understand.
It is the only magazine I currently subscribe to as well. |
I have subscribed to different quilt magazines over the years and I have clipped out articles which I still check now and then. Now I find that I am very happy with The Block as my only magazine at this time. Love it even if there are corrections.
I also love the fabric ads in the mags. That usually makes the price worthwhile, to see what is going to be in your favorite quilt store soon.
The missed errata would drive me bonkier!
I really like BLOCK. I have every issue, and I will continue to subscribe. Even if I never made a single quilt from any of the issues, the finished product is so very "classy": beautiful photography, down-home writing, nicely done instructions. Those things together make BLOCK a must-have for me.

I really liked the Block mag....when I first started quilting.....but now I need a little bit more of a challenge.
I love Block, however, I stopped getting them because they seemed to lose my credit card info and the hassels kept coming. I miss it.
I for one love it and look forward to it.

I like Block magazine. I find that a lot of the patterns are quite "simpleton" like, but many are very interesting. Getting the disappearing hour glass quilt was worth it. And I really love all the stories that go with each quilt.
What don't I like about it? The murder mystery in the back. I certainly wouldn't buy it for that. Don't like it. |
