Susan McCord's Vine Quilt! Oh my....
It was made in the 1800's and now hanging in the Henry Ford museum.
You can see it here- http://www.commonthreadsquilting.com/ scroll down a few. Is it gorgeous or what? I think I'd get really tired of appliqueing all the leaves, tho. How unique and original. Just had to share and get your opinions on it. Sandy |
Beautiful quilt!! I agree could be a lot of work appliqueing all the leaves.

It looks like she could have done them in long strips. But still, a lot of work there.

I have that pattern. It is beautiful and looks like it would be a lot of work. She made many quilts and the book I have has a nice article about her. It said she used old fabric for the vines, but used new fabric for the leaves. There are a lot of leaves in the quilt.
