Susan McCord's Vine Quilt! Oh my....
 

It was made in the 1800's and now hanging in the Henry Ford museum.

tired of appliqueing all the leaves, tho. How unique and original.

Beautiful quilt!! I agree could be a lot of work appliqueing all the leaves.

It looks like she could have done them in long strips. But still, a lot of work there.

I have that pattern. It is beautiful and looks like it would be a lot of work. She made many quilts and the book I have has a nice article about her. It said she used old fabric for the vines, but used new fabric for the leaves. There are a lot of leaves in the quilt.

oh my! gorgeous. i'd do a Dear Jane before i'd do that one.... too many of the same thing... over, and over, and over :)

That would be a long winters project! Beautiful! It would be easier with the batiks available now.

Wow that is one beautiful quilt. But is sure isn't one that I would make, I would never get it done, too much work for me.
