Does it count if we are only 1/4 Swedish?

kay carlson 07-13-2010 01:40 PM

I'm 1/4 Norweign, but married a full-blooded Swede :-)

In fact, my maiden name was spelled with an "sen" and current name is "son"

Yes, of course it counts! I was going to really check if any Swedish Quilters have heard of this Cotton Theory quilting as you go, which I have talked about before in my emails. My father was Swedish so guess that makes me half??

Hello anyways. I just love the decorative fabrics of the Scandinavans.

My Sister-in-Law is from Sweden, but I have not convinced her that she needs to start quilting.... yet!

Me too--early on learned "taks a mikka (sp)" and "vars a goot (sp)". Whenever they talked in Swedish it meant they were planning a surprise so be prepared for a trip to the ice cream shop!

They mean "Thank you" and "you are welcome" I think....just half for me.

Yes and I tell my own grands the Swedish versions of thank you and you're welcome.

How exciting, yes I am part Sewdish, my maternal grandparents came from Sweden. My ex-husband's maternal grandparents also came from Sweden. While raising the children we belonged to a Swedish based church, it was so much fun for all of us to learn about the heritage. We cherish all the Swedish items we have collected over the years. I just love to go shopping in a Swedish shop!

I wonder if my spelling error was Feudian? Oh course I meant to say I am part Swedish. Sorry about that.
