My son came to spend the night with us last night ( he is 33). Daddy is going to drive him to the airport.

Anyway, I came in the kitchen to make the coffee and the den is right off the kitchen. There he was, sleeping on the couch, wrapped up in a quilt (I have them everywhere lol), and Dude (dog) on a rug on the floor besides him. He loves my quilts.

He can't sleep when he has to travel so he watches tv until he can catch a few winks.

You need to take a picture so when you miss him just pull out the pic. Great memories.

Rosy, funny you would mention something like this today. I am making quilts for my 6 adult kids for Christmas. I find myself wondering if they will truly appreciate the work, thought and time involved in creating these. Several have requested a quilt, I know one will cherish his, but as a whole do you think they acknowledge the meaning of "quilt giving"? Just pondering....

It is possible that your children, now grown, remember fondly those times they piled into bed with Dad and Mom or huddled under one quilt to watch a tv show or movie. A quilt made with love from Mom just might be their way of getting in that extra Mom and Me time even though we know we are all to old to need it. LOL I wore out the old quilt that Grandma had on the couch for just such occasions. It was meant to be worn out in loving use, and I am proud to say it was me and my son and the dogs that did it enthusiastically.
