My grandson is an avid swimmer and plans on getting a college scholarship though the swim team... I need some fabric for his quilt besides the wonderful water materials. Any help would be appreciated, please.

Somehow I don't think he would be interested in these... ;-)

I always wanted to make a t-shirt quilt for my daughter. They get so many shirts from all of the meets and the various teams they have been on. Maybe something with sharks or other fast fish?? Maybe just stick to pool and other blues, greens and white.

This site gave me an idea for you. Take the silhouette of the swimmer, make a large applique of this for the center and then take various blocks to build out the quilt top from there. Colors, I would stay with the blue, blue/green, white families. Better yet, if you happen to have a picture of your grandson, use that and create a silhouette picture of some kind to create the applique. |
Sounds like a WINNER here...had not thought about a silouette. THANKS for getting me to think outside my box.

I have beachy fabric with flips flops, beach towels, sunglasses, etc but the background is pink so probably won't work for you !!But good luck in your search!
