I have just started a t-shirt/memory quilt for my son. I need some suggestions for the border and for the middle sections. The quilt is based on soccer. He is 24 yrs.old.

I was thinking maybe batiks for the middle, still not sure of the border. Most of the material I have found dealing with soccer seem too childish.

Any suggestions?

aren't you using t-shirts for the blocks? I'd just use any fabric you like for the borders and sashings if the other fabrics you've found are too childish. i'm sure there a plenty of memories in those shirts.

When I have made t-shirt/memory quilts I either use a complimentary color or a favorite color of the person getting the quilt for the sashing and borders. They have always turned out beautiful. I'm sure your son will love whatever you choose for the fabric! Post a photo when you are finished!

I found a neat soccer fabric. It is hexagons. Some of them are plain black and some of them are flags of the world. I used it on a quilt I made my son's soccer coach. I will see if I can find a link for you to see.

found it!
