T- shirt quilt quilting problems

I have just finished a t-shirt quilt top, loaded it onto my frame, started quilting and my problems started. I am doing a panto with loops, I went through 2 squares looked great 3rd and 4th squares were a mess. My foot is dragging I had on the closed foot because I am also doing some ruler work( at least that is what I think is happening) there was heavier writing on some of the shirts. This is causing a lot of puckers . Any thoughts as to what to try would be a great help.

If your foot is dragging on the sticky Decals on the shirts, I would tack (needle and thread)sheets of tissue paper to the quilt and quilt through it. You can rip the tissue off after the quilting.

I agree with Tartan that will help alot. Good luck!

My friend Cindi has made many t-shirt quilts. She simply quilts around the thick plastic-y printing on the t-shirts. It's just too much of a hassle to try and quilt through.

I never quilt through the logos, especially the rubbery ones. My tension goes haywire the minute I do. Plus, leaving the logos unstitched allows them to "puff" out a little, which really puts an emphasis on them. If they're large logos, most of them have areas of un-rubbery fabric, which I'll stitch down. As far as the "dragging", if you're using a longarm, you may need to raise the foot a little. I usually raise mine about 2 dimes-worth of height. That keeps the foot from dragging the fabric as you stitch.
