T-Shirt quilts

I need to make a few of these now that I almost have my sewing room set back up. Has anyone used sweatshirts along with t-shirts in a quilt? If so, was it difficult to work with the thin and thick pieces and how best to do that? Thanks!

I put a couple in the one i made for my oldest daughter. one I cut out the design I wanted and appliquéd it onto a stabilized tshirt. The other was appliqued on in an area where a few shirts came together that felt like an "empty space" both worked fine. The sweatshirt designs I used were smallish and I did not quilt it mine was tied.

I put sweatshirts and t-shirts together on the same quilt.. no problems. I interfaced all of them and it seemed to work just fine

Thanks for the comments from both of you. My sweatshirts have larger designs on them and I hoped to be able to treat them just like the t-shirts ..... stabilize with interfacing, cut to size, and sew mixed in with the shirts. Thanks meyert for letting me know that you have done that and it works.

What kind of stabilizer do you ladies use on the back of the T shirts?

cmierley, You need to use a light weight fusible interfacing that is made to use on knits in particular. Some use a product called French Fuse but your local shop (JoAnns or LQS) should be able to direct you to a stabilizer they carry that works well on knits. There are several different products that will work. Hope this helps!
